Let’s talk about social media for a minute.

You know it’s important. You know you should be posting regularly. You know it’s one of the ways potential clients learn more about you and what you do.

And yet… somehow, it keeps getting pushed to the bottom of your to-do list.

Sound familiar?

Posting on Social Media Sounds Easy. Until You Actually Sit Down to Do It.

One of the biggest misconceptions about social media is that it’s easy to manage yourself.

After all, how hard can it be to write a few sentences and hit Publish?

But the time-consuming part isn’t necessarily coming up with ideas. It’s pulling everything together, creating interesting images, adding links, and scheduling posts so they go out consistently.

And when you’re busy serving your own clients, working on your business, and managing everything else that comes with being a business owner, social media can quickly become another task you just don’t have time for.

You Probably Already Have Content You Can Use

Here’s something I often do for my clients.

When they send me their weekly blog post or newsletter material, I’ll pull out a few key ideas and turn them into social media posts. I’ll create interesting images to accompany them and include a link back to the original content so people can read more.

The content is already there. The message is already there.

We’re simply taking those ideas and reworking them into shorter, more digestible posts that help get the message out to a wider audience.

And if you’re not currently creating blog posts or newsletters? That’s okay, too! You can start with a monthly theme and build your social media content around it.

The first step is figuring out where your content will come from. Once you’ve established that, you can start making it work for you.

Is Your Social Media Gathering Dust?

Ha! We’ve all seen them. Facebook business pages and LinkedIn profiles that haven’t had a new post since 2023.

But here’s the thing: when people are deciding who they want to work with, they’re likely to check out your online presence.

As a VA with more than ten years of experience, I can tell you that current, active social media channels can make a difference in how potential clients perceive your business.

You don’t need to be on every platform. In fact, I recommend choosing one or two that you enjoy using and focusing your efforts there.

But if someone visits your page and can’t find anything recent, they might start wondering whether you’re still in business.

And even if it’s clear that you are, you’re missing an opportunity to help them learn more about you, your services, and how you could help them.

The more opportunities people have to see your content and become familiar with what you offer, the easier it becomes for them to consider working with you.

Three to Five Posts From One Piece of Content? Absolutely!

If you have a recent blog post, newsletter, or other piece of content sitting on your computer, here’s a simple way to put it to work.

    1. Pull out three to five key points. Look for useful tips, interesting observations, or ideas that stand on their own.
    2. Turn each point into a social media post. Keep the message concise and make it easy to read.
    3. Add an image. A suitable stock photo can work perfectly well.
    4. Link back to your original content. Give interested readers somewhere to go if they want to learn more.
    5. Schedule your posts. Both Meta and LinkedIn offer built-in scheduling options, so you can get your content ready in advance.

Then, add a calendar reminder to repeat the process whenever you publish your next piece of content.

It’s a straightforward way to keep your social media active without having to start from scratch every time you sit down to write a post.

You Don’t Have to Do Everything Yourself

One of the biggest benefits of having a VA help with your social media is the time it saves you.

You don’t have to come up with every post, pull the ideas together, create the images, add the links, and schedule everything yourself.

You also have someone helping you maintain a consistent online presence, so your audience continues to see what you’re doing and what you have to offer.

And let’s be honest. Even people with the BEST intentions can leave something like social media sitting on their to-do list for months.

If it’s been six months and you still haven’t gotten around to it, you probably aren’t going to get around to it on your own.

And that’s okay!

That’s exactly why help is available.

You started your business to do what you love and serve your clients. You don’t have to be the person responsible for every little task that keeps your business running.

If social media has been sitting on your to-do list for far too long, let’s talk about how I can help.

I’d love to take some of that work off your plate so you can focus on the parts of your business you enjoy most.
